Police Warn Public Fake Money Here
THE LOCAL POLICE of Pagadian City has issued a public warning over the weekend regarding the circulation of fake money of different denominations such as P1,000.00, P500.00 and P200.00 bills.
Police Chief Inspector Reynaldo M. Maclang said that all establishments must be cautious in accepting money from customers as he also called the owners and managers of different establishments, shopping centers and grocery stores to acquire a money detector to ascertain the authenticity of the money coming from customers.
Recently, two store owners reported to the city police station that they received fake money from unidentified customers, Maclang said.

Zamsureco-1 Cashier Robbed, 2 Wounded
ARMED ROBBERS divested a Zamsureco-1 cashier of cash money and a cheque during a highway robbery in Brgy. Tikwas, Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur just recently.
Merlyn Bato, cashier of Zamsureco-1 in San Miguel Sub-Station told police
investigators that while they were on board a vehicle on the way to Pagadian City from their office in San Miguel town upon reaching Brgy. Tikwas of Dumalinao town, robbers on board a motorcycle flagged them down at gun point and declared a hold up.

Cong. Cerilles Denies Rumor Governor Running For City Mayor
PAGADIAN CITY - Rumors circulating around the city that last termer Governor Aurora E. Cerilles is contemplating to run for city mayor of Pagadian City, even if her ally, incumbent Mayor Sammy S. Co can still run for another term have puzzled many, a keen political observer said.
According to reports some of the governor’s political workers have roamed around the 54 barangays in the city to feel the pulse of the voters. A reliable source who asks for anonymity said random surveys asking barangay respondents who would be the best mayoralty bet, if elections were held today have been going on.

City Gets Additional 20 Policemen
PAGADIAN CITY - To boost the city’s police force, an additional 20 PNP personnel are now stationed here.
During a courtesy call over the weekend, Provincial Police Director P/Supt. Ramon M. Ochotorena introduced the 20 law enforcers to City Mayor Sammy Co at the CMO-Conference room.
It was learned that the new recruits were channeled from PNP-Region 9 through Director Jaime G. Caringal to the Provincial Police and then to the Pagadian City Police Station. The 20 enlisted police officers led by PI Van Froillan P. Tompong will augment the city’s police force, which is composed of only 94 men.
Accordingly, the 114-personnel police force would be watching over the city at a ratio of 1 officer for every 1500 residents.

Science And Technology Week Slated On July 21-25
THE REGIONAL Satellite office of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) has announced over the weekend that the 3rd week of July (July 21-25) has been declared as the Regional Science and Technology Week.
Ebenezer Tulog, DOST Provincial Officer said that the weeklong celebration will start on July 21 and to culminate on July 25, 2008.
