Tsunami Safety Tips

If you see the water recede in pier, beach, or seaside quickly and unexpectedly (this is called drawback) even if you did not feel an earthquake, run toward higher ground or inland - Do not wait until you see it coming. Also, if you are on the coast and there is an earthquake, it may have caused a tsunami, so run toward higher ground or go inland. The first wave in a tsunami is often not the largest; if you experience one abnormally-huge wave, go inland quickly -- even bigger waves could be coming soon. Do not take any chances.

Did You Know This?

What is Bisaya or Visayan?

First of all, the Root Word for Bisaya is from the word Visayan or Visayas

Bisaya refers not only to Cebuano but also to Waray, Aklanon, Cebuano, Hiligaynon (Ilonggo), karay-a, bol-anon, and many others Visayan dialects.

Bisaya really means different Visayan people, who live in different parts of Visayas Islands, who speak different Visayan dialects such as Waray, Aklanon, Cebuano, Hiligaynon (Ilonggo), karay-a, bol-anon, and many others Visayan dialects.

What started this big confusion? I think one of the reasons this misunderstanding started was by Max Surban who referred to Cebuano as Bisaya in some of his popular songs in which many people in Cebu and Mindanao listened and subconsciously absorbed the wordings.
