He said that the Zamboanga del Sur Coastal Road, which costs about Php400 million at the minimum, will be his top priority in the province if he be elected as president. “We will use Zamboanga del Sur and Pagadian City as an example of synergy–driven progress,” he said.
Gibo laid out and explained his platforms on Education, Health and Food Security, to name a few. He mentioned of the introduction and implementation of an education road map; 100% PhilHealth coverage, especially to the poor; and help to the farmers, considering the P20 billion estimated losses in agriculture due to El Niño.
He also gave direct answers to every question during the forum proper, which stirred applause from the audience.
When asked about his top priority among his platforms, he said that everything should be given attention and solution. ”Sa dami ng problema ng Pilipinas, kailangan sabay-sabay na tugunan,” he said. However, he pointed out one thing in his platform which he considers important. “Genuine national unity and reconciliation. Kung wala yan, mag-aaway-away pa rin… walang mangyayari,” he added.
The Lakas–Kampi standard bearer also expressed his doubts and fears over the automated election. “Like everything new, I’m quite scared. [With] several experiences with computerization, it takes several months or years to iron out the bugs. February pa lang na-deliver ang machines, May na ang eleksyon. Dapat last year pa lang na-testing na yan,” he said.
With regard to surveys, Gibo commented on the leading presidentiables Manny Villar and Noynoy Aquino. “Maaring leading sila, pero sa init ng pagtanggap ninyo sa akin, wala na yan,” he said. “Manalo na sila sa survey, basta manalo lang ako sa eleksyon, kanila na ang survey,” he added.
The presidentiable mentioned of measures on how to deal with extra-judicial killings happening in the country. He treats the latter as a crime and should be prevented in the same way as other crimes like hold-up and robbery.
“Dagdagan natin ang pulis at sundalo natin dahil kulang na kulang. Dagdagan natin yung resources nila to solve crimes,” he said.
Senatoriable Rey Langit came shortly after Gibo left. Philip Salvador also came moments later endorsing senatoriable Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr., along with the campaign staffs of Raul Lambino, Ramon Guico and Bebot Bello, all running for senator.
