INVESTIGATORS probing the dawn break-in of a jewelry shop located at the vicinity of this city’s Agora are zeroing in on a group of transients as the likely suspects, a source from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said. The source, who seeks anonymity,
The NBI source then told this paper their probe focused on an inside job angle and a possible grudge by a former employee of the pawnshop owner.
Excerpt from the City PNP blotter says that the burglars gained entry into the Vanex pawnshop by passing through the road manhole in front of the establishment and while beneath, drilled a hole under the shop’s floor in the eve of June 14.
The NBI source surmised such a feat may have been done by four people. About P1.2 million worth of pawned jewelry and P50-T cash were carted away by the robbers, the police said.
Last March, a security guard assigned near the City Commercial Complex (C3) led a bunch of thieves and robbed UniCity by drilling a hole on its West wall through one of the unfinished portion of the C3.
The burglars took several appliances, jewelry and an undetermined amount of cash. The security guard, as of this writing, is still wanted by police. - BROUGHT TO YOU BY PAGADIAN EXPRESS
