THE CITY TOURISM Office (CTO) has officially presented the final contenders for the Miss Pagadian 2010, a big trim from the more than 30 ladies who earlier auditioned. The said search is one of the highlights in the upcoming Araw ng Pagadian 2010

on June 21, this city’s 41st Charter Day. In a press meeting last May 17, some 12 ladies, aged 18-22, who all stood between 5’4” to 5’7,” single, with pleasing personalities, articulate in the English dialect and all city natives were presented to journalists.

The candidates underwent strict screening last April 15 and 28, and were oriented on the choreography and rehearsals that will continue until June 18, the final technical-dress rehearsal with host and all performers.

A CTO briefer has tentatively set the Talent and Swimwear competitions on June 17 and the Coronation night on June 19.

The candidates are Joan Tabunda, Mayette Astronomo, Apple Joy Gamboa, Chrisanie Rubio, Marielle Rio Regurosa, Jenny Tumale, Rachael Quibol, Lady Florence Cotingjo, Devine Jumalon, Dhana Fe Colinares, Hannah Montano and Jackielyn Nacalaban.

These ladies were a hodge-podge of high school graduates to college sophomores who will go through location shootings, mall and radio tours, tree planting, team building workshop and lectures on values formation and solid waste and dance rehearsals.

All the candidates will likewise attend the scheduled Independence Day program on June 12 where a motorcade around the city proper is being arranged.

It was not known how much the city government committed as cash prizes to the winners and if it will provide scholarship grants, like the previous year where the crowned beauty received P25,000, a trophy and a college scholarship assistance along with her runner-ups. - BROUGHT TO YOU BY PAGADIAN EXPRESS
