EMPLOYERS IN THE private and government sectors must remit the monthly contributions of their employees, together with their employer share, on or before the tenth (10th) calendar day of the month following the month for which the payment is due and applicable.
Aquino added, that in case the deadline for payment falls on a Saturday, Sunday or has been declared a regular, special or non-working holiday, "the deadline of payment shall be made on the next working day."
To date, there are about 318,853 private and 14,776 government employers registered with PhilHealth nationwide.
The monthly premium of employees is based on a contribution schedule ranging from P50.00 for those receiving salaries of P4,999.99 and below, to as much as P375.00 for those whose salary base is P30,000.00 and above. The employers provide an equal amount as their counterpart to the monthly premium.
Aquino also reminded individually paying members (IPMs) that the deadline for premium payments is on the last working day of the quarter being paid for.
"In case the last working day of the quarter is declared a regular, special or non-working holiday, IPMs are reminded to remit their premium contributions on or before the set deadline to avoid inconvenience in the availment of benefits," he said.
The IPMs may pay on a quarterly, semi-annual or annual basis. Deadline for semi-annual or annual payments is on the last working day of the first quarter of the applicable semester or year. They can also remit their payments on a monthly basis through short messaging system (SMS) by typing PHIC (space) PhilHealth ID number and sending this to 7442.
As of September this year, there are about 3.62 million IPMs registered with PhilHealth nationwide. The premium is pegged at P300.00 per quarter for those whose monthly family income for the last 12 months is P25,000.00 and below. For IPMs whose monthly family income for the last 12 months is above P25,000.00 and whose professions are included in the list attached to PhilHealth Circular 24, series of 2010, the premium is P600.00 per quarter for the first year of implementation.
Premium payments from both employers and IPMs are accepted in over 50 PhilHealth-accredited collecting agents that include bank and non-bank institutions nationwide.
