How to configure Psybnc client using Mirc
Step 1. You will be given a psybnc account: for example Identd: MyIdent Psybnc server: /server omega.data-stream.org:52549 Password: /QUOTE PASS MyPassword
Step 2. Start Mirc but DO NOT connect yet. Click File then Options then select Identd in Identd type: MyIdent then click OK
Step 3. Type the Psybnc's server in the status window and press ENTER then it will ask for your Psybnc password.
Step 4. Type your password: /QUOTE PASS MyPassword in the status window and press ENTER
Step 5. After you succesfully logged on you see a Messages window. Click that window and you and you see the Psybnc message that says" *-psyBNC* Mon Sep 1 18:25:32 :User () has no server added This means that you need to add IRC servers to connect.
Step 6. Add these IRC servers by typing each of the following and press ENTER /addserver toronto.on.ca.undernet.org :6667
After you entered all the IRC servers Psybnc will then try to connect to any IRC servers you just added. It will take a while, sometimes 30 minutes or hours to connect to an IRC server for the first time, just be patient until your Psybnc is connected. NOTE: If after 30 minutes or an hour still cannot connect try change the vhost or the IP Address. To change vhost go to the Messages window and type: /bvhost Your.Vhost.Here then press ENTER Ask for the list of VHOST from the person that created your psyclient.
Step 7.
Finally when you get connected to an IRC server you will read: [18:40] *-psyBNC* Mon Sep 1 18:36:33 :User armani () connected to baltimore.md.us.undernet.org:6667 ()
and look at the Status Window
When you see this message: [18:40] -mesa.az.us.undernet.org- Highest connection count: 13009 (13008 clients) that means that you are ready to join a channel Step 8. In the Status window type you desired Nickname then /join #Pagadian
To see all the Psybnc commands go to the Messages Window and type /bhelp To change your Vhost type /bvhost Your.Vhost.Name Change your original password. The new password must be exactly 8 characters in length, and the first character must be an alphabetic character. The password may be composed of any the following character sets: upper-case alphabetic characters A through Z, the numbers 0 through 9, and these three special characters, @, # and $.
